Comedy Night Event
Hello All. It has been TOO LONG...but I wanted to share why I have been MIA for the past week.
For the past 3 years I have been hosting a parents' night out event for my children's elementary school PTO (Parent Teacher Organization). The previous two years we hosted a wine tasting event - fun - but it was time for a change. After pondering our options, the committee decided on Comedy Night!
I searched for a local comedian and found one who came highly recommended. She was awesome, hysterical and made the night complete. Thanks, Linda Belt.
We had a variety of raffle and silent auction prizes ~ that is where we make most of our money. The best auction items are the kids artwork. I won the fish pictured below, which was created by my daughter's 4th grade class. She wanted me to win it since the previous year I won a cookie jar that her brother's class created. There was music, talking, food, drinking and laughing all for $25. The night was a huge success!
The pitchers, platter and cookie jar in the pictures above and below are created using the
children's fingerprints. The cookie jar below is similar to the one I won last year!
Thank you to all my committee members who helped make the event fun and successful - a good time had by all who attended . I could not have done it without you! We are going out with a bang! (p.s. for those of you who are reading this, I am not chairing the event next year. Not sure if anyone will take on this enormous task).
Happy Monday!
That must have been an awesome night!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Love the kids' works of art! (love the fingerprint art)
Totally cool idea!

DeleteAwwww!!! The venue looks simple, but super neat, pretty and professional!!! LOVE the fish you won!!! (; And I almost shed a tear when I saw the Van Gogh "Starry, Starry Night" painting! (': You are so involved in your children's school--that makes me smile (: Definitely sounds like the night was a blast!!! So glad you shared this!!! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you Grisel. Your comments mean a lot. It was a such a nice night. I paid a pretty penny for that cute fish. So glad you stopped by to check out the event. You probably don't know this but I was PTO president for two years. Term ended last spring. It was a lot of work.
DeleteSounds like a blast, the fish is so cute!
