Introducing July Guest Designer ~ Jane!

Good morning.  It has been a while since I posted.  The little puppy is tiring me out.  Today, I would like to introduce you to our July guest designer, Jane from Purplejet Loves Crafts.  I have truly enjoyed getting to know Jane through the bloggy world.  She is such a sweet person who is quite talented.  I appreciate and always love seeing her layouts linked up to our challenges!

I think I've probably been crafting all my life, starting at primary school with a love of embroidery and knitting - girls did this while boys played sport, yes I'm that old! Building on this my Nan taught me how to sew and I made dolls clothes, aprons and then my own clothes. I studied to be a primary school teacher with craft as my main subject - this included weaving, collage and dressmaking. Over the next few years I dabbled in many crafts including cross stitch, macrame, patchwork, crochet, card making - you name it I've probably given it a go!

I discovered scrapbooking round about 2005 and made the standard family history album, then a holiday album, then a wedding album and another wedding album ..... Yes I was smitten! I found it really difficult to find shops, workshops or other scrapbookers where I live and turned to the internet for inspiration and made such an important discovery. - scrapbooking can be about the everyday and not just special occasions. I don't think I've ever looked back since and although I still find card making is more popular here in the UK,  for me it's always scrapbooking that is my total love. I never begrudge spending on supplies for my pages as I know I'm going to treasure them and hope they will be passed on for many generations yet to come.

I started my blog just over a year ago mainly as I wanted to enter challenges and keep my brain active in retirement. And now I've been lucky enough to become part of a card challenge team and also guest design at the Memory Nest! How amazing is that?

Her lovely introduction says it all!  Jane is a beautiful person inside and out.  Jane, it was a pleasure to have you join us this month.  Stop by her blog and say hi.  She has some gorgeous cards up in her recent posts.

Hope you are having an amazing week.

Happy Scrapping,

Where have I been?

Hello Ladies.  I have been a little MIA for the last week!  We were on vacation visiting Gettysburg and Hershey Pennsylvania!!

Gettysburg was beautiful, touching, breathtaking and amazing!!!  We learned so much about the Civil War and how a different outcome could have changed our country's history.  I have to share some photos with you (some you will probably see again on my layouts).

The battlefield

Little Round Top, the battlefield, the hotel and Farnsworth
house for dinner (which is supposedly haunted)

pictures from different spots on the battlefield including
Devil's Den, and a civilian house used as a hospital.

Lunch at a fun pub, reinactiments of the Union and Confederate
armies (that was amazing), the Friend to Friend monument, other
monuments  (one at Little Round Top the other is the PA memorial)

Hershey Gardens, Hershey World and pool time

Hershey Park so much fun and a little yummy too!!

Hope you have all been well.  I look forward to visiting your
blogs and seeing what you have been up too!!  Catch up time!

Happy vacationing,

P.S. Collages were created in the pic stitch app and the
edited photos with the added touches were created using
the Studio app (I am a little obsessed with Studio)!

More Bella Blvd.

I am sharing some more layouts that I created with my new stash of Bella Blvd.  If you
missed the Bella Blvd post the other day - I will fill you in - I decided to try Bella Blvd
products ~ LOVE them.  These layouts were created with Max and Sprinkles.

I apologize that some of the photos used on my layouts are not the best quality.  Sometime I snap
moments with my iPhone and have to scrap them. The iPhone 4 photo quality is not the best but
I still must scrap these fun memories.  Really hoping to upgrade soon!!!

at tMN!! Love what she did with the collection.

Loving her use of rainbow lately!!

Such a fun vibrant layout that really depicts summer!

Rachel created two adorable cards based on
the sketch and you can do the same!!!

LOVE her colorful washi tape page. Absolutely darling
with those adorable pictures of her girls!

Leslie
And I actually had time to play before the post went live. I created two layouts
because I wanted to use the sketch two different ways! One is CAS (Guitar
Girls) the other a little more fun with more embellishments and a variety of
patterned papers (Red Sox Fans)

We would love to see what you create!  And remember: ALL who link up to
our challenges are entered into our monthly prize drawing!  Good Luck!!!

Happy Making,
