Summer Challenge Design Team Call

Wow!  That title is a mouthful.  As some of you know, I currently have a design team of talented and creative ladies.  As the summer approaches, I have decided to hold off on the specific paper collection design team assignments until the fall.

I know that the summer is the hardest time of the year for me to scrap.  So to continue scrapping, I decided to host two challenges a month.  I am looking for some talented and creative scrappers, card makers are welcome too, to share their work with all.   If you are chosen, your work will be featured in our blog posts.   Other crafters will have the opportunity to play along and link up/share what they created.

Looking for Design Team Members
The Memory Nest is looking for a team of crafters to
inspire creativity in others.  Each designer will be challenged to create
two layouts each month for our blog based on the provided colors or sketch.
Great opportunity to connect with amazing people and inspire others!

* Term will be July and August 2013*
If you have a love for scrapbooking, are crafty and deadline conscious,
I would love to see your work!

Please email me at:
leslie@thememorynest.com

challenges will be assigned and due dates scheduled in June!

All chosen for the summer challenge team will have a better chance of  being chosen for The Memory Nest design team in the fall.  Fall Design Team Members will receive new product to play with.  I am looking forward to seeing what the companies release over the summer.

Good luck and
Happy Creating,

May Sketch Challenge!

Here is our May sketch, thanks to Page Maps
We would love for you to play along by linking up a card or layout.

Leslie

I love how Rachel used the sketch and the great patterned papers to make a gloomy day seem so cheerful.
My layout was created using some old papers and a coordinating mini pad that I had in my stash.
It was a little out of my comfort zone but it is always fun to experiment with new layouts and designs.

Happy Sharing,

I'm Back...from Disney!

Hello Everyone.  Glad to be back after a restful break - if you can call Disney restful.  Actually, we were tired but I made sure to not overdo it.  I thought it would be fun to share some pictures from our trip.  I missed conversing with all of you and I apologize for my absence with no explanation.  I don't like announcing to the world that I am away.  Hope you had a wonderful week.  I look forward to reconnecting with all of you and seeing what you have been up to!

Happy Week!

Pinterst Friday - Handprint Tree!

Happy Friday!  I saw this awesome piece of artwork a while back on Pinterest.  I just loved how cute it was and new I may want to recreate it someday.

I decided that this would be a perfect gift for my my Mom for Mother's Day (for my dad too - but not for Mother's Day).  I wanted to include the hand prints of their four grandchildren.

I created a stencil using my Cricut (the Cricut Design Studio made making this stencil so much easier).  I colored in the letters with a Sharpie Marker ( I was afraid that paint would run under the stencil and cause the letters smudge together

I created a stencil for the tree that same way that I did the saying.  The cool thing about the Cricut Craft room was I could stretch or shorten the tree anyway I wanted to get the right size and shape.  I traced and shaded the tree with a brown Sharpie marker.

Last but not least, we added the four grandchildren's hand prints.  "Handmade" with love for Grammie and Pop!  I cannot wait to give this to my mom.  I really hope that she does not see this post.  By the way, I love how this came out so much that I am going to create a second one for myself using my husband's, kids' and my hand prints!

The original idea for the project came from this Pin which links to Liz's Naptime Decorator blog.
Thank you, Liz for sharing this adorable project.  I look forward to giving it to my mom!

Happy Mother's Day!

Harvest Market Card by Cassie

Hello Readers and Visitors!

Today we have a beautiful card created by Cassie from our Design Team.
She used the Harvest Market 6x6 papers from Lily Bee! Such a beautiful
card.  Not to mention black and red are my favorite colors.
