Introducing July Guest Designer ~ Jane!

Good morning.  It has been a while since I posted.  The little puppy is tiring me out.  Today, I would like to introduce you to our July guest designer, Jane from Purplejet Loves Crafts.  I have truly enjoyed getting to know Jane through the bloggy world.  She is such a sweet person who is quite talented.  I appreciate and always love seeing her layouts linked up to our challenges!

I think I've probably been crafting all my life, starting at primary school with a love of embroidery and knitting - girls did this while boys played sport, yes I'm that old! Building on this my Nan taught me how to sew and I made dolls clothes, aprons and then my own clothes. I studied to be a primary school teacher with craft as my main subject - this included weaving, collage and dressmaking. Over the next few years I dabbled in many crafts including cross stitch, macrame, patchwork, crochet, card making - you name it I've probably given it a go!

I discovered scrapbooking round about 2005 and made the standard family history album, then a holiday album, then a wedding album and another wedding album ..... Yes I was smitten! I found it really difficult to find shops, workshops or other scrapbookers where I live and turned to the internet for inspiration and made such an important discovery. - scrapbooking can be about the everyday and not just special occasions. I don't think I've ever looked back since and although I still find card making is more popular here in the UK,  for me it's always scrapbooking that is my total love. I never begrudge spending on supplies for my pages as I know I'm going to treasure them and hope they will be passed on for many generations yet to come.

I started my blog just over a year ago mainly as I wanted to enter challenges and keep my brain active in retirement. And now I've been lucky enough to become part of a card challenge team and also guest design at the Memory Nest! How amazing is that?

Her lovely introduction says it all!  Jane is a beautiful person inside and out.  Jane, it was a pleasure to have you join us this month.  Stop by her blog and say hi.  She has some gorgeous cards up in her recent posts.

Hope you are having an amazing week.

Happy Scrapping,
