All the Goodies!

Bonjour!
Today I am sharing all the goodies and recipes from the Paris themed party. Enjoy!  Would love to hear all your "sweet" thoughts!

Cake Pops

This was my second attempt at making cake pops, and this experience was much better.  I used the Duncan Hines Recipe but not their products.  http://allrecipes.com/recipe/cake-pops-by-duncan-hines/

The one thing that made it much easier this time was dipping the end of the lollipop sticks into the melted chocolate and then into the cake pop.  You must let the candy harden before you start dipping the rest of the cake pop into the chocolate for decorating.  The hardened chocolate forms a barrier so that the cake pop doesn't slide down the lollipop stick.  There were times when the cake pops would become to soft and would not slide down the stick by actually start to tear off.  I would just stick the pops (sticks and all) back into the freezer for a few minutes to let them harden back up.

Another thing to remember, is once you dip the cake pop into the melted chocolate let the excess chocolate drip off (but wait too long - you don't want the chocolate to set),before sprinkling your shots or nonpareils on top.  Instead of rolling the cake pop with the softened chocolate into the sprinkles, I just sprinkled them on with my fingers ~ and they stuck to the pop without a problem.

The drizzle was done with spoon.  Put some melted chocolate on a spoon and let is drip or drizzle onto the pop.  I used pink and purple chocolate melts.

Cherry Cookies

My daughter loves cherries.  So when I found this recipe, I had to make it for her party.  I thought the pinkish red color went well with the theme and were different than what the guests would be used to.  I have included the Pinterest link and the link to the blog where the recipe was featured (there are other cherry recipes too).  Thank you for sharing the recipe.  They were a huge hit!

Love the way the mixed cookie dough looked. Pics of the cookie dough and on the cooling rack.

 Eiffel Tower and Rose Cake

I saw this cake idea on http://lets-explore.net/blog/2011/10/afternoon-in-paris-party/ .
From that site I was able to go to the tutorial on another site showing how to make the roses on the cake. http://iambaker.net/rose-cake-tutorial/ This was my first attempt at making a rose like this as well as decorating with buttercream frosting.  In the past I had just used the frosting in the containers from the store.  The buttercream is much better to work with.  The recipe used was: http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Buttercream-Frosting-2 .

The Eiffel Tower was printed out from http://www.flickr.com/photos/taffeta/2421385245 and http://www.flickr.com/photos/taffeta/2421383049/ .  I originally saw this idea in the Afternoon in Paris post on the Let's Explore blog!  Thank you to Amy for sharing her birthday party ideas.
