I "HEART" Pinterest

My Pinterest Inspired project today is from a scrapbook page that used Washi Tape.
The tape was adhered to a heart ~ I loved the way it looked.  See pin here: http://pinterest.com/pin/159666749261242120/  I new this was an idea I would
want to use in one of my layouts.  Not only did I put Washi Tape on the heart, but
I covered the chipboard letters with it.  So fun, yet so simple!

I have been wanting to try my hand at making cards.  I decided that using Pinterest
would help inspire and give me ideas.  I also wanted to incorporate Washi Tape since
that is the item my main Pinspired project focused on.  I found a card I liked - http://pinterest.com/pin/159666749260967764/ - and pictured a sketch of it in my head.
I modified it to the look I wanted.  Here are the cards [numbered in the order I made them].

The chipboard letters in shine were covered in the Yellow Airmail Washi Tape.
As you can see, I was having fun playing with all different types of materials,
embellishments and techniques.

: Airmail Yellow, Airmail Gold, Orange Stripe, Purple Airmail, Grey Airmail, Pink Stencil,
White with Black Polka dots, Black and White Chevron, Pink Polka Dot (Glitz)
(on sale plus use the additional 20% off coupon)

Other Materials used that you can find at The Memory Nest:
(the rest of the materials were from my stash)

I guess the cards are not too bad for my first "real" try.  I am going to keep
playing with sketches and using my pins for pinspiration.  In the meantime...

Happy "Washi" Taping,

  1. Leslie,
I love your cards. Great use of Washi Tape. I have never used Washi Tape on a card or layout so this gives me a few ideas. I especially like how you covered the chipboard letters.

  3. Thanks Lenny. It was fun to mix the different color of Washi. Thanks for you compliment on the cards. It is fun that I started to make cards and it will help me create them for people (for special occasions). Scrapbooking is still where my heart is. Although, I did get sentiment stickers from Simon Says Stamp [just for card making]. ;)
